Happy, healthy, educated children and young people who make the world a better place by being in it.
In other words, we want what you want.
For over twenty years, Independent Thinking has been helping schools help young people be even better, both in the classroom and beyond.
Our family of Associates contains some of the world’s leading educational speakers, innovators and practitioners and includes teachers, school leaders, academics, specialists, stand-up comics, entrepreneurs, authors, OBEs, MBEs and even a paediatric neurologist (but we aren't a speakers bureau).
We work with teachers, students, school leaders, parents, governors and decision-makers, supporting schools through memorable and practical INSET sessions, workshops and longer-term support, speaking at major educational conferences wordwide as well as organising our own national events on a range of important topics (just don't call us trainers or, worse, consultants).
Despite the many, many years of practical and academic wisdom and expertise our Associates have, we don't set ourselves up as a panel of experts (and we certainly won't tell you what you have to do 'because the research says you should').
And even though Independent Thinking Press titles have won awards for our ground-breaking education books we aren't even a publishing company.
What's more, we don't employ people, own fancy offices or produce glossy brochures and, because we were set up to make a difference not a profit, we put back as much as possible into our work.
So, if you're looking for engaging, entertaining and eminently practical practitioners to lead an INSET day or fire up a conference, then check out The 33 - our leading 33 Associates with a proven track record in this area.
And if you need an Associate with a more specialist background from Art Therapy to Librarianship for the 21st Century, from Drugs Education to Complexity in the Classroom, then check out our Topics page here or the full list of all our great Associates here.
Why We Do What We Do:
Because children aren't data
Obedience isn't engagement;
Silence isn't respect;
Learning is more than memorising
And there's always another way.
If you don't feel the same way, then we're probably not what you're looking for. If you do think we're on the right track, then we would love to hear from you and support your work to fight for the right all children have to an education worthy of the name.
Since 1994 our written mission has been:
'To enrich people's lives by changing the way they think - and so to change the world'.
If you're involved in the education of young hearts and minds, that's what you're doing everyday.
We look forward to hearing from you.
